Actress Kristen Wiig has scored the voice role of the mechanical warrior Roboto in the upcoming “Masters of the Universe” live-action film at Amazon MGM Studios. Filming on the project wrapped in June.

In He-Man lore, Roboto is built by Man-at-Arms and is a member of a corps known as the Heroic Warriors. They have a transparent metal body allowing one to see the inner workings inside.

Roboto also has one arm that features interchangeable hands, such as a claw, laser gun, or axe.

Filmmaker Travis Knight directs the Chris Buttler-penned movie which stars Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man, Camila Mendes as Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms and Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress.

Also onboard are James Purefoy as King Randor, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Fisto, Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops, Jon Xue Zhang as Ram-Man, Sasheer Zamata as Suzie and Christian Vunipola as Hussein.

The story follows Prince Adam, who crashed to Earth in a spaceship at 10 years old and was separated from his magical Power Sword – the only link to his home on Eternia.

After tracking it down almost two decades later, Prince Adam is whisked back across space to defend his home planet against the evil forces of Skeletor.

But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam will first need to uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man, the most powerful man in the Universe.

Amazon MGM Studios, Escape Artists and Mattel Films will release the film in cinemas on June 5th 2026.
