Ben Kingsley is set to reprise his “Iron Man 3” and “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” role of British actor Trevor Slattery in Marvel Studios’ “Wonder Man” series for the Disney+ service.
In the comics, Simon Williams (aka. Wonder Man) started out a villain with ionic superpowers and is eventually reborn as a superhero and founding member of the Los Angeles-based West Coast Avengers.
Reports are the series is intended to be something of a Hollywood satire with the Wonder Man character having been an actor and a stuntman in the comics. Kingsley’s Slattery is said to play a major role.
“Shang-Chi” helmer Destin Daniel Cretton is teaming with “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “Community” writer-producer Andrew Guest on the project. Guest serving as head writer while Cretton will executive produce and is a co-creator.
