Acting veteran Kevin Bacon is set to play a bounty hunter resurrected from the dead in the new half-hour TV series “The Bondsman” at Blumhouse Television and Amazon’s Prime Video according to Above the Line.
Based on an original idea from series creator Grainger David, Bacon stars as Hub Halloran – a backwoods bounty hunter who comes back from the dead and gets a second chance at life, love, and a musical career.
The trouble is resurrection comes with a price, and he must now use his skills to hunt down demons and other supernatural creatures.
Erik Oleson (“Carnival Row”) will serve as showrunner on the project, which scored an eight-episode straight-to-series order.
Oleson and David will executive produce alongside Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, Jeremy Gold, Chris Dickie and Paul Shapiro. Production won’t begin until after the strike(s).
Bacon previously starred in the Prime Video half-hour comedy “I Love Dick,” whilst Blumhouse and Amazon also have the horror dramedy “The Horror of Dolores Roach” on the way.
