Keanu Reeves Talks “Wick” Spin-Off “Ballerina”

Lionsgate

Keanu Reeves has confirmed the upcoming “John Wick” spin-off feature “Ballerina” will take place between the third and fourth entries in the main franchise.

Appearing at the CCXP convention over the weekend to promote the fourth “John Wick” film, Reeves also touched upon the Ana de Armas-led tie-in film, which sees a young female assassin seeking revenge against her family’s killers.

Discussing the film’s premise with the crowd, he says:

“Someone killed her father. Who could that be? And so it’s her journey [to] actually understand her past. She lost her father at a young age, and she doesn’t really know what happened. Only that someone came into the house and killed her father, who had a tattoo. And as we know in John Wick, if you have a tattoo, something’s going on.”

Reeves adds that he himself is “in it for a few sequences” and will be joined by fellow franchise alum Anjelica Huston, Ian McShane and Lance Reddick, who will all reprise their roles from the previous films.

“Ballerina” is currently filming under the helm of Len Wiseman and has no release date as yet, whilst the fourth “John Wick” arrives on March 24th.
