Over two decades since they made “Being John Malkovich” and “Adaptation” together, director Spike Jonze and writer Charlie Kaufman are looking to re-team.
World of Reel reports that Kaufman has confirmed that he’s having discussions with Jonze about doing another film together.
From the sounds of it, it’s early talks though – a long way from a finished script let alone a greenlit film.
Jonze last directed 2013’s “Her” and Kaufman last directed 2020’s “I’m Thinking of Ending Things”.
He did recently direct the short “How to Shoot a Ghost” which was presented at Mostra de São Paulo in Brazil where an in-depth interview led to the reveal of the potential new Jonze collaboration.
Kaufman also confirmed he’s dropped an AI-themed project he was writing for “Moneyball” director Bennett Miller.
