Kathleen Turner has been set to play foul-mouthed lobbyist Dita Beard in HBO’s five-part series “The White House Plumbers”.
The series tells the story of how President Richard Nixon’s own political saboteurs and Watergate masterminds, E. Howard Hunt (Woody Harrelson) and G. Gordon Liddy (Justin Theroux), accidentally toppled the presidency they were zealously trying to protect.
Turner’s Beard works for an ITT corporation involved in dirty deals with the Nixon Administration. She joins a stacked cast that also includes Domhnall Gleeson, Lena Headey, Kiernan Shipka, Ike Barinholtz, Yul Vazquez, David Krumholtz, Rich Sommer, Kim Coates, Gary Cole and John Carroll Lynch.
“Veep” writers and executive producers Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck created the series and will executive produce, while “Veep” showrunner David Mandel will direct all five episodes.
