“Star Trek” star Karl Urban has joined the cast of Disney’s non-musical remake of the 1977 family adventure classic “Pete’s Dragon”.
The story follows a young boy (Oakes Fegley) whose parents are dead. He’s subsequently raised in a forest by a dragon only he can see.
Urban will replace “Dexter” star Michael C. Hall who was forced to exit the project due to a scheduling conflict. Details on the role remain unclear.
Robert Redford, Bryce Dallas Howard and Wes Bentley also star. David Lowery is directing from a script he co-wrote with Toby Halbrooks.
