Julia Roberts has been set to produce and star in a film adaptation of Chris Cleave’s 2008 novel “Little Bee” for Amazon Studios and Red Om Films.
Kathleen Robertson (“Murder in the First”) is writing this take on a young Nigerian asylum-seeker named Little Bee and British magazine editor Sarah O’Rourke (played by Roberts).
The two meet during a conflict in the Niger Delta and are reunited in England several years later. Lisa Gillan, Marisa Yeres Gill and Gil Netter will also produce.
