Joshua Jackson To Lead Peacock’s “Dr. Death”

Joshua Jackson (“Fringe,” “Little Fires Everywhere,” “The Affair”) will replace Jamie Dornan in the lead role in the limited series “Dr. Death,” based on the hit Wondery podcast, currently in the works at Peacock.

Jackson plays Christopher Duntsch, a rising star in the Dallas medical community building a flourishing neurosurgery practice. However patients entering his operating room for complex but routine spinal surgeries are left permanently maimed or dead.

As victims piled up, two fellow physicians, neurosurgeon Robert Henderson (Alec Baldwin) and vascular surgeon Randall Kirby (Christian Slater), set out to stop him.

Dornan was cast in the role in August 2019, but due to the production start delay relating to the coronavirus pandemic, both Dornan and director Stephen Frears hit scheduling conflicts and exited.

Maggie Kley helms the first two episodes of the series which begins production this Fall. Patrick Macmanus serves as showrunner.
