“Trap” and “Oppenheimer” alum Josh Hartnett will star in and produce the action-thriller “All Day & All Night,” which hails from Norwegian filmmaker Tommy Wirkola (“Violent Night,” “Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters”).
Hartnett will play Billy Davies, a reformed bank robber whose daughter gets into Harvard, so he returns to a life of crime to come up with the tuition money.
When the bank heist goes horribly wrong, he and his crew accidentally stumble onto the set of a failing reality TV show.
Now, Billy must stay on air long enough to figure out an escape plan from the cops trying to arrest him and the mob trying to kill him, while the producers must keep the show on air long enough to boost their ratings and evade cancellation.
Wirkola and John Niven penned the script for the film, which Wirkola will produce. Shooting will take place next year.
Hartnett is currently in post on “Verity” at MGM/Amazon and a Newfoundland-set mini-series at Netflix. Wirkola just wrapped filming on “Violent Night 2” and has both it and horror film “Shiver” opening next year.
