Tommy Lee Jones is in negotiations to both direct and co-star in an adaptation of Michael Connelly’s 2005 bestselling novel “The Lincoln Lawyer” for Lakeshore Entertainment says The Hollywood Reporter.
The story centers on Mickey Haller (Matthew McConaughey), a wheeler-dealer Los Angeles lawyer who operates out of the back of his Lincoln.
Haller is content with a career defending garden-variety criminals until he lands the case of a lifetime: defending a Beverly Hills playboy accused of murder.
Jones’ role is unclear as the second male lead, the playboy, is a considerably younger character than Jones
John Romano penned the screenplay while Gary Lucchesi, Tom Rosenberg and Scott Steindorff are producing.
