“Lovecraft Country,” “Da 5 Bloods” and “The Last Black Man In San Francisco” breakout Jonathan Majors has been set for one of the major roles in the upcoming third “Ant-Man” film at Marvel Studios says Heat Vision.
Sources close to the project say Majors likely to play the super-villain Kang the Conqueror in the film. In the comics, Kang is a time-traveling despot from the far-future who has battled with various Avengers and is intricately connected to the larger mythology of the Marvel universe. This suggests it may be more than just a one-off appearance.
Peyton Reed returns to helm the latest installment which also stars Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily. Reed recently said: “The third Ant-Man movie is going to be a much bigger, more sprawling movie than the first two. It’s going to have a very different visual template.”
Majors will next be seen in Netflix’s “The Harder They Fall” currently in production.
