Actor Jonathan Majors’ criminal defense lawyer claims the “Creed III” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” actor is innocent – and has the evidence to prove it.

Majors made headlines yesterday when he was arrested after police responded to a 911 call inside of an apartment in Chelsea involving a domestic dispute. He was charged with assault, strangulation and harassment.

Majors is one of the most in-demand actors working today, has long-term plans with Marvel Studios to play Kang across numerous films, and has Sundance drama “Magazine Dreams” set for release in December which is expected to garner significant awards attention.

Speaking with Variety, his attorney Priya Chaudhry released a lengthy statement confirming they have plenty of evidence proving his innocence:

“Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and is provably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows. We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently.

Evidence includes video footage from the vehicle where this episode took place, witness testimony from the driver and others who both saw and heard the episode, and most importantly, two written statements from the woman recanting these allegations.

All the evidence proves that Mr. Majors is entirely innocent and did not assault her whatsoever. Unfortunately, this incident came about because this woman was having an emotional crisis, for which she was taken to a hospital yesterday. The NYPD is required to make an arrest in these situations, and this is the only reason Mr. Majors was arrested. We expect these charges to be dropped soon.”

In the wake of the incident, the U.S. Army has paused its two ‘Be All You Can Be’ advertising commercials featuring Majors. In a statement to Variety, the Army’s marketing office says: “While Mr. Majors is innocent until proven guilty, prudence dictates that we pull our ads until the investigation into these allegations is complete.”
