Jon Stewart’s political comedy “Irresistible” is forgoing a theatrical release and will debut on Premium VOD on June 26th. The film will be available for rent for $19.99 through platforms including Amazon, Apple, Directv and Fandango.
The story follows a Democrat political consultant (Steve Carell) who helps a retired Marine colonel (Chris Cooper) run for mayor in a small right-wing Wisconsin town. Rose Byrne, Mackenzie Davis, Topher Grace and Natasha Lyonne co-star.
Originally set to premiere in cinemas on May 29th, the project was pulled from release after the coronavirus outbreak and cinema shutdowns. It now joins “Trolls World Tour,” “Scoob,” “The King of Staten Island” and other films that are skipping theatrical launches for VOD premieres.
