John Cena, Kathy Bates, Brian Cox and Jodie Turner-Smith will star in the Amy Rice-directed political thriller “The Independent”.
The story unfolds during the final weeks of the most consequential presidential election in history. Turner-Smith plays an idealistic young journalist who teams up with her idol (Cox) to uncover a conspiracy surrounding the election’s fate.
Cena and Bates will play the Presidential candidates. Evan Parter penned the Black List script and filming begins in November in New York City. Ryan Cunningham, Thea Dunlap, Caddy Vanasirikul, Evan Parter and Sam Bisbee produce.
