Scarlett Johansson is set to star in “Bride,” a genre-bending sci-fi thriller reinvention of James Whale’s “Bride of Frankenstein” for Apple and A24.
In the film Johansson plays a woman created to be an ideal wife – a singular obsession of a brilliant entrepreneur. However she rejects her creator and is forced to flee her confined existence, confronting a world that sees her as a monster.
On the run that she finds her true identity, her surprising power, and the strength to remake herself as her own creation.
“A Fantastic Woman” helmer Sebastian Lelio will direct from a script he is co-writing with Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo (“The Wolfman”). Johansson and Jonathan Lia will produce.
