Acclaimed filmmaker George Miller recently confirmed that the long-awaited “Mad Max: Fury Road” prequel, one that would focus on the character of Furiosa, was finally making progress.
Now THR is reporting that “Killing Eve” breakout Jodie Comer is in the running for the role of the young Furiosa in the project. The acclaimed actress from Liverpool in the UK has been nominated for dozens of awards and won an Emmy last year.
She’s also about to break out big on film with key roles in Ridley Scott’s “The Last Duel” and “Free Guy” alongside Ryan Reynolds. Her name follows on from “Split” and “The Witch” actress Anya Taylor-Joy being rumored for the part.
Speaking of “Mad Max,” this year’s biggest video game release is “Cyberpunk 2077” and it has been revealed by developers CD Projekt Red that the car that Tom Hardy used at the start of “Mad Max: Fury Road” will be included in the game. The car, a Quadra Type-66 ‘Reaver’ car, is inspired by the 1970 AMC Javelin AMX.
Miller is next set to direct the romance drama “Three Thousand Years of Longing” starring Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba.
