Jim Carrey has been set to play Democratic presidential candidate and former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden for the upcoming 46th season of “Saturday Night Live” launching October 3rd.
The former “In Living Color” regular turned film star will take on the role in the run up to Election Day in November. SNL is currently planning five consecutive broadcasts of the program from its season premiere – utilising limited in-studio audience at Rockefeller Center for the upcoming season.
The network will also work with authorities to stay abreast of health and safety concerns. Carrey takes on a role played by both Jason Sudeikis and Woody Harelson on the comedy.
Actor/comedian Lauren Holt, writer/comedian Punkie Johnson, and stand-up comic Andrew Dismukes will all join the cast for the next season.
