Former “Supernatural” alum Jensen Ackles will join the cast of ABC’s mystery drama “Big Sky” for its just announced third season.
Ackles first appeared in the season two finale of the David E. Kelly series as Beau Arlen, a confident and charming Texas man who steps in as temporary Sheriff (and Jenny Hoyt’s new boss) as a favor to his friend Sheriff Tubb.
Ackles deal goes for one year only and follows on from his recent work on the third season of Amazon’s “The Boys” which will premiere next month.
Jamie-Lynn Sigler has also been upped to series regular for the next season of “Big Sky”. She had a recurring role in the second season as Tonya, a waitress at a local diner whose boyfriend mysteriously disappears.
With digital included, “Big Sky” has been averaging around 9 million viewers per episode this season.
