Jeff Goldblum is in final talks to play The Wizard in Jon M. Chu’s two-part film adaptation of the celebrated musical “Wicked” at Universal Pictures.
The story serves as a prequel to “The Wizard of Oz” and tells of how Elphaba became the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch.
Goldblum joins a cast that includes Ariana Grande as Glinda, Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero.
The films are set for release on Christmas in 2024 and 2025.
