Action star Jason Statham is rumored to be up for the title role in the long-gestating film adaptation of the Warren Ellis comic “Gravel” at Legendary.
The report hails from scooper Daniel Richtmanâs Patreon page and the story revolves around the character William Gravel, a soldier in the British S.A.S. who uses his skills in dark magic to moonlight and battle supernatural beings for clients in order to make some extra cash.
Legendary first planned a film adaptation of the property back in 2009 with “Deadpool” helmer Tim Miller hired back in 2012, no indication if that’s still the case.
Statham was at one time in the mix to play Marvel Comics’ “Namor The Sub-Mariner” at Universal Pictures.
