Actor Jared Leto has confirmed he is set to play artistic giant Andy Warhol in an upcoming feature.
Leto posted a photo of Warhol, timed to the day after what would’ve been his 92nd birthday, on Instagram with the caption: “Yes it’s true I will be playing Andy Warhol in an upcoming film. And so grateful and excited about the opportunity. We miss you and your genius”
Warhol was also a film director and producer who was known for popularizing the genre known as pop art with famed works including the Campbell’s soup cans and the Marilyn Diptych.
No other details are available about the film. In 2016 it was announced Leto would star in a Warhol biopic from writer Terence Winter and producer Michael De Luca, but that seemed to collapse a while back.
