Samuel L. Jackson is in talks to star as the U.S. President alongside Joel Kinnaman in “The Beast,” a film package being sold at the Toronto International Film Festival market according to Deadline.

The project was packaged prior to the strikes commencing and is currently in pre-production thanks to an interim agreement from SAG-AFTRA.

The story revolves around ‘The Beast’, the Secret Service’s nickname for the Presidential limousine – effectively an impenetrable armor-plated and bomb-proof tank stocked with weapons.

In the film, a militia of unidentified hostiles stages a coup against the presidency, the Jackson’s President discovers The Beast’s full offensive capabilities. He must learn to control The Beast to save not just himself but the country as well.

Kinnaman plays a Secret Service agent named Taft. Jackson previously played the U.S. President in 2014 action thriller “Big Game,” though that dealt with Air Force One crashing in Finland.

“The Meg” and “Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts” second unit director James Madigan helms the film from a screenplay by Umair Aleem (“Kate”). Peter Berg, John Logan Pierson and Keith Kjarval produce.
