Filmmaker J Blakeson (“The Disappearance Of Alice Creed”) is in talks to direct the sci-fi feature “The Fifth Wave” at Sony Pictures.
Based on the Rick Yancey novel, the story follows a girl searching for her brother after an alien invasion. The studio hopes the project will be a potential franchise launcher.
Susannah Grant is adapting the script, while Tobey Maguire, Graham King, Tim Headington, Denis O’sullivan and Matt Plouffe are producing.
