“IT: Welcome to Derry” Mid-Season Trailer

HBO

HBO has premiered a new trailer for the remaining four episodes of its prequel series “IT: Welcome to Derry”.

The trailer comes in the wake of last night’s fourth episode, which went into the explanation as to why the IT creature – be it in Pennywise or another form – doesn’t leave the confines of Derry.

The show serves as a prequel to the hit two-film adaptation of the Stephen King novel “IT” with the story here set in the early 1960s in the period before Pennywise goes into hibernation and re-emerges in the 1980s in the first film.

Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, and Rudy Mancuso star, while Bill Skarsgård is reprising his role as Pennywise from the first two films.

Andy Muschietti, who directed the films, developed the series with producers Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs. He’s directing four episodes of the run while Fuchs and Brad Caleb Kane serve as showrunners. All four executive produce, along with Skarsgård, David Coatsworth, Shelley Meals, Roy Lee, and Dan Lin.

The eight-episode series airs weekly, through until December 14th.
