Oscar Isaac (“Drive”) and Domhnall Gleeson (“Anna Karenina”) are poised to join “28 Days Later” scribe Alex Garland’s directorial debut – the indie robot thriller “Ex Machina” for DNA Films.
Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich are producing, while Scott Rudin and Eli Bush are executive producing.
The story follows a billionaire programmer (Isaac) who handpicks a young employee (Gleeson) to spend a week at his remote estate and participate in a test involving his latest invention – an artificially intelligent female robot.
The likes of Felicity Jones and Alicia Vikander are said to be up for the female role.
