Martin Scorsese has finally locked the cut of his next film “Killers of the Flower Moon” and it’s coming in a little shorter than previously rumored.

Deadline reports that the film clocks in with a final runtime of 206 minutes (3 hours 26 minutes), around half an hour shorter than previously indicated 234 minutes by Cannes festival director Thierry Fremaux.

Even so, the film will still count as one of the longest-running s studio films in cinema history and only just a few minutes shy of what will remain Scorsese’s longest-running feature film – “The Irishman”.

Based on David Grann’s best-selling book and written for the screen by Eric Roth and Scorsese, the story unfolds in 1920s Oklahoma and depicts the serial murder of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation – a string of brutal crimes that came to be known as the ‘Reign of Terror’.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion, and Tantoo Cardinal star.

The screening at Cannes will mark the first time audiences will get to see the film, and it is unclear if the film will air as part of a competition.

“Killers of the Flower Moon” will open in the U.S. in limited release on Friday, October 6th, followed by a wide release two weeks later on October 20th, followed by an Apple TV+ global streaming launch.
