A whole bunch of alum from AMC’s “The Walking Dead” are joining Amazon’s animated series adaptation of “Invincible” which is based on ‘Dead’ author Robert Kirkman’s graphic novel series.
Michael Cudlitz, Lauren Cohan, Ross Marquand, Lennie James, Sonequa Martin-Green and Chad Coleman will all lend their voices to the series which previously cast their former co-stars Steven Yeun and Khary Payton along with a whole bunch of others earlier this week.
First published in 2003, the story follows a normal teenage high school student named Mark Grayson. who has just one difference between him and his peers – his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, and he, too, will inherit his own set of super powers.
Coleman will portray Martian Man, Martin-Green will star as Green Ghost, Cudlitz stars as Red Rush, Cohan as War Woman, James as Darkwing and Marquand will play both The Immortal and Aquarius.
They join actors such as J. K. Simmons, Sandra Oh, Mark Hamill, Seth Rogen, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beetz, Walton Goggins, Zachary Quinto and Jason Mantzoukas. The comic launched in 2003 and wrapped up last February after 144 issues.
Simon Racioppa (“Teen Titans”) is serving as showrunner on the series which David Alpert and Catherine Winer will executive produce.
