The original 2009 film is based on the 2004 roman à clef novel by Lauren Weisberger, an assitant to Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
The story followed an aspiring journalist Andy Sachs (Hathaway) who is hired at a glossy fashion magazine but finds herself at the mercy of her demanding editor-in-chief Miranda Presley.
The sequel is expected to follows Priestly as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing. Blunt will reprise her role of Miranda’s former assistant who is now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with ad dollars that Priestly needs.
