IMAX Unveils A 20-Film 2026 Slate

IMAX

IMAX has unveiled a slate of twenty films coming to its cinemas in 2026 with July being the busiest month as three titles will hit.

The list was announced as part of its investor presentation today, and they made it clear that the list “does not reflect fully confirmed or complete listing of all titles planned to be played across the IMAX global network.”

Arguably, the biggest releases of the year for them will be Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” on July 17th, Greta Gerwig’s “Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew” and both the Russos’ “Avengers: Doomsday” and Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part III” on December 18th.

Perhaps the most notable absentee on this list is “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” which may be locked out of IMAX screens due to an exclusivity window for the Nolan film. Here’s the full list:

Mercy – January 23rd
The Bride – March 6th
Project Hail Mary – March 20th

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie – April 3rd
Michael – April 24th
Mortal Kombat II – May 8th
The Mandalorian & Grogu – May 22nd
Toy Story 5 – June 19th
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow – June 26th

Minions 3 – July 1st
Moana – July 10th
The Odyssey – July 17th
Flowervale Street – August 14th
Resident Evil – September 18th

Untitled Iñárritu/Tom Cruise’s Project – October 2nd
Street Fighter – October 16th
Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping – November 20th
Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew – November 26th
Avengers: Doomsday – December 18th
Dune: Part III – December 18th

There does appear to be some gaps to slot in potentially more titles, especially in early January, February, early June, early September, and early November.

IMAX has seen its domestic box-office rise 29% in the third quarter of this year, compared with an 11% decline for regular cinemas.
