Paramount+ has cancelled its “iCarly” reboot after three seasons, the news first revealed by star Laci Mosley who posted the words “It’s canceled babes” on social media.
Mosley was responding to a fan asking about the future of this update to the beloved original 2007-2012 Nickelodeon series. She added: “Not a joke. The best people I’ve ever worked with in the business. Thank you for tuning in to the reboot. Everyone put their deeply kind talented souls into this.”
A spokesperson for the streamer also issued a statement saying: “iCarly will not be returning for a fourth season on Paramount+.”
The sequel series launched in 2021 and follows the now grown-up Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove) and her friends as they deal with work, relationships and families as young adults.
In the official statement, Paramount+ says: “The series had a great three-season run and delivered on what fans really wanted to see with Carly and Freddie finally getting together. We want to thank the entire cast, the writers, directors and producers along with the whole crew for their dedication, creativity and talent.”
Nathan Kress, Jerry Trainor and Jaidyn Triplett also starred in the regular cast. The show’s ten-episode third season finished its run in late July and Ali Schouten-Seeks served as showrunner.
