William Hurt, Corey Stoll, Lara Pulver and Maude Apatow have joined the cast of AMC’s first animated primetime drama “Pantheon” created by Craig Silverstein (“Nikita,” “Turn”) who has also signed an exclusive multi-year overall deal with the network.
The project is based on a collection of short stories by Ken Liu about human consciousness uploaded to the cloud. The series focuses on a bullied teen (Maddie Chang) who receives mysterious help from someone online – her recently deceased father (Daniel Dae Kim), whose consciousness has been uploaded to the Cloud following an experimental destructive brain scan.
He is a new kind of being – a UI (Uploaded Intelligence), and there will be more as a global conspiracy unfolds that threatens to trigger a new kind of world war. Hurt will voice a legendary genius billionaire, Apatow will voice the teen’s new friend. Stoll and Pulver will voice various roles.
Other cast members will include Paul Dano, Rosemarie DeWitt, Aaron Eckhart, Taylor Schilling, Ron Livingston, Chris Diamantopoulos, Raza Jaffrey, Scoot McNairy, Anika Noni Rose, Grey Griffin, SungWon Cho, Kevin Durand, Samuel Roukin and Krystina Alabado.
“Pantheon” received an initial two-season order last March.
