In a lovely bit of shade throwing, Hulu has taken on social media trolls at their own game when a few decided to launch some petty trashing of Oscar winner “Parasite”.
That film began streaming exclusively on Hulu starting this week and Hulu celebrated the launch with a Twitter video. One respondee called it a pathetic movie, to which the streamer responded – “It won…four Oscars.”
It was another criticism however that went viral when one follower had a problem with “Parasite” being a foreign-language film. That person said: “It’s not in English, no one wants to watch a movie that they literally have to read to understand what’s going on. Sound is such a huge part of movies and it being in a different language is so [weird].”
Hulu came back with a pitch perfect response: “If you don’t want to read subtitles, you can always learn Korean.” “Parasite” arrives on streaming after an unprecedented run at the global box office with $254 million worldwide, including over $50 million in the United States.
