Fox 21 Television Studios and Hulu are reportedly developing a sci-fi series titled “Brainbox” which is based on the short story from author Christian Cantrell.
The story takes place after a climate engineering experiment fails and casts the planet into a sudden ice age. The world’s most powerful nations compete for the last remaining habitable regions along the equator.
Things begin when a young weapons specialist is brought in to create a revolutionary, self-replicating, A.I. army that will transform the fate of humanity.
Dave Kajganich (“The Terror”) is attached as showrunner with Warren Littlefield (“Fargo”) serving as an executive producer. Cantrell’s other novellas like “CAGN” and “The Epoch Index” are being adapted into features – the latter with Brad Peyton (“Rampage”) directing.
