Hulu Nabs K-Stew Rom-Com “Happiest Season”

Hulu has acquired the U.S. rights to Clea DuVall’s holiday rom-com “Happiest Season” starring Kristen Stewart, and have set a November 25th premiere date – the same day it was originally intending to go theatrical.

The story follows a woman (Kristen Stewart) whose plan to propose to her girlfriend (McKenzie Davis) while at her family’s annual holiday party is upended when she discovers her partner hasn’t yet come out to her conservative parents (Mary Steenburgen and Victor Garber).

Sony Pictures and Entertaintment One co-financed the movie and will retain distribution rights in the rest of the world with potential overseas theatrical releases to be finalised in coming weeks.

DuVall directed from a script she co-wrote with Mary Holland. Marty Bowen and Isaac Klausner produce.
