Controversial TV host Chris Hansen has dropped the trailer for his upcoming documentary “I’m Chris Hansen,” which will screen on his TruBlu streaming network.
The preview offers a glimpse into the TV host’s personal account of his work and career through interviews and archival footage.
The trailer was released yesterday, timed to the same day Lance Oppenheim’s “Primetime” made its theatrical debut in U.S. cinemas and stars Robert Pattinson as Hansen.
The 67-year-old TV presenter has long criticised the film since that movie’s first trailer release. He was not involved in the film’s making.
He famously turned down a pre-release screening invite and finally caught up with the film in its regular theatrical release, sharing his reaction in a 20-minute YouTube Video:
“It was so bizarre and so in and out of reality, it’s hard for me to… Obviously I’m not objective because the character is, you know, me, but it was so detached from reality or anything I’ve experienced then or now doing the investigations. I’m not sure what the point of it was.”
He added that some members of his former crew saw the film and thought the “film work was good” while others “got bored after the first 30 minutes”. As for Pattinson’s depiction of him – he called it “so detached, so unhinged, so dark, so unlikeable… in a way, it’s a hit piece on me and the series, which is weird.”
The official release date for “I’m Chris Hansen” remains under wraps.
