“Horizon: Steel Frontiers” MMORPG Announced

NCSoft, Guerrilla Games

Guerrilla Games and NCSoft have revealed “Horizon: Steel Frontiers,” the long-rumoured MMORPG set in the “Horizon: Zero Dawn” universe.

While the previous games launched as PlayStation exclusives for several years before hitting other platforms, this marks the first “Horizon” title that won’t be on the PS5 at all.

Instead, it’s a mobile game launching on PC, iOS and Android devices. Players can play in a multiplayer environment to take down Horizon’s iconic giant mechanical beasts.

A 10-minute video featuring gameplay and staffers talking about working on the game has been released. Guerrilla Games’ Jan-Bart van Beek called the title a “full-fledged MMORPG that NCSoft has built specifically for mobile.”

‘Zero Dawn’ took place in areas that were Colorado, Utah, and parts of Wyoming, Arizona and Montana. ‘Forbidden West’ unfolds in California, Nevada and Utah.

This game will be set in an area known as the Deathlands and inspired by Arizona and New Mexico. You’ll be sharing the world with other players who will sometimes be working with you and at other times against you.
