Hocus Chip Disenchanted Updates
Disney+

Disney offered some minor updates on its slate of both Disney Pictures and 20th Century Studios film content that’s coming either directly to, or day-and-date with, its Disney+ streaming service.

A March 2022 release month has been set for the Gabrielle Union and Zach Braff-led reimagining of the hit family comedy “Cheaper by the Dozen”.

The John Mulaney and Andy Samberg voice-led hybrid live-action/CG animated feature which they dub a ‘comeback’ of the early 1990s animated “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers” series will hit the streamer in Spring 2022. Seth Rogen has also joined the cast.

Also arriving in Spring 2022 is a comedy adventure film adaptation of the Tim Federle book “Better Nate Than Ever” starring Aria Brooks, Joshua Bassett, Michelle Federer, Rueby Wood, Norbert Leo Butz and Lisa Kudrow.

Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey return for the “Enchanted” sequel “Disenchanted” which has set a Fall 2022 premiere, as has the “Hocus Pocus” sequel with Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker returning. The first photo from that is above.

Also arriving in the Fall is Robert Zemeckis’ live-action “Pinocchio” starring Tom Hanks, Cynthia Erivo, Luke Evans and the voices of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Keegan-Michael Key and Lorraine Bracco.

The “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” franchise is returning with an animated film reboot on December 3rd this year and a follow-up “Rodrick Rules” hitting the streamer in 2022. Poster art for the former is up on Twitter

Over on Hulu (U.S.) and Star (International), three films were announced as direct-to-streaming titles in 2022 – the “Romeo and Juliet” reinterpretation “Rosaline” starring Kaitlyn Dever, the irreverent action fairytale “The Princess” starring Joey King, and the stranded by a blizzard suspense-thriller “No Exit” starring Havana Rose Liu.
