Hickey Turns Priest For Salems Lot

Veteran character actor John Benjamin Hickey (“Sublet,” “The Good Wife”) is set to play the key role of Father Callahan in the new film adaptation of Stephen King’s 1975 second novel “Salem’s Lot” at New Line.

The story sees author Ben Mears (Lewis Pullman) return to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book. He soon discovers the place is being preyed upon by a bloodthirsty vampire.

Callahan is the local alcoholic priest in Jerusalem’s Lot whose faith is tested by the arrival of the sinister vampire Kurt Barlow.

Hickey joins previously announced cast that includes Alfre Woodard (Dr. Cody), Makenzie Leigh (Susan Norton), Bill Camp (Matthew Burke), Spencer Treat Clark (Mike Ryerson), Marilyn Busch (Eva Miller), Kellan Rhude (Floyd Tibbits), Pilou Asbæk (Richard Straker) and William Sadler.

Gary Dauberman penned the script and directs. Roy Lee, James Wan and Michael Clear are producing the film which opens September 9th 2022.
