Henry, Mara Lead A.I. Crime-Themed “Class”

FX has handed out an eight-episode order for the limited sci-fi crime series “Class of ’09” starring Brian Tyree Henry (“Atlanta,” “Godzilla vs. Kong”) and Kate Mara (“House of Cards,” “A Teacher”). The series will air exclusively on FX on Hulu.

The show is set in a near-future in which the U.S. criminal justice system has been transformed by artificial intelligence. A group of FBI agents who graduated from Quantico in 2009 are reunited following the death of a mutual friend.

The tale unfolds across three decades and three interweaving timelines as it examines the nature of justice, humanity and the choices of people that define their lives.

Henry will play the brilliant and unorthodox Tayo Miller who seeks to reshape the FBI. Mara will play Amy Poet, a woman who never imagined joining law enforcement and finds herself at the heart of its most pivotal moment of transformation.

Tom Rob Smith (“The Assassination of Gianni Versace”) will write and executive producer while Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson executive produce.
