Chris Hemsworth has teased his return as Australian black-market mercenary Tyler Rake in the “Extraction” sequel, sharing a short video from the set on Friday via the Russo Brothers’ Instagram account.
Covered in injury make-up, Hemsworth and director Sam Hargrave were on hand for the video with the pair on a moving train somewhere near Prague in the Czech Republic in freezing cold weather. Hemsworth says:
“First day shooting on Extraction 2. Two things are different from the last film. One: very very cold. Two: I’m alive. How? You’ll have to find out. Watch the movie. Stay tuned.”
The original film was set primarily in Dhaka, Bangladesh and involved the rescue of an Indian drug lord’s kidnapped son. Upon its release in April, the film was viewed on Netflix by an estimated 90 million households. Joe Russo penned the original and this follow-up.
