Oscar and Emmy winner Helen Hunt is leading a number of new faces including Benjamin Earl Turner, Atticus Woodward, Jaylen Barron, and Candace Nicholas-Lippman in the “Blindspotting” TV series at Starz.
Jasmine Cephas Jones, Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal reprise their roles from the 2018 film of the same name for this continuation of the story in an eight-episode, half-hour dramedy which just began production in Oakland and Los Angeles.
The series centers on Ashley (Jones) who is on the verge of middle class life in Oakland when her partner, Miles (Casal), is suddenly incarcerated. She is forced to move in with Miles’ mother, Rainey (Hunt), triggering an existential crisis. The opinionated Rainey holds family above all else.
Casal serves as showrunner, writer and executive producer with Diggs also producing for Lionsgate Television.
