One of the most famous complaints about HBO’s “Game of Thrones” in its latter seasons is that some scenes, especially in the famed “The Long Night” episode, were just too dark to see anything.
That complaint has now carried over to the spin-off “House of the Dragon” with viewers reportedly outraged scenes in Sunday’s seventh episode were too dark to see.
Social media lit up with complaints about how ‘unwatchable’ the episode was due to the darkness of the cinematography.
The complaints to HBO Max got bad enough that the official account has issued the same explanation/apology tweet multiple times saying:
“We appreciate you reaching out about a night scene in House of the Dragon: Episode 7 appearing dark on your screen. The dimmed lighting of this scene was an intentional creative decision. Thanks!”
Three more episodes of the ‘Thrones’ prequel are set to air weekly on Sundays at 9pm ET on HBO.
