HBO has renewed “Downton Abbey” creator Julian Fellowes’ late 19th century New York-set drama “The Gilded Age” for a second season just three weeks after it launched.

The nine-episode series, which spent nearly a decade in development originally at NBC and is produced by Universal Television, had HBO’s best Monday night debut since “Chernobyl” and has been a hit for HBO Max.

The series stars Carrie Coon, Morgan Spector, Louisa Jacobson, Denée Benton, Taissa Farmiga, Blake Ritson, Simon Jones, Harry Richardson, Thomas Cocquerel and Jack Gilpin, with Cynthia Nixon and Christine Baranski.

The first season will wrap on March 21st.
