Celebrated documentary filmmaker Raoul Peck (“I Am Not Your Negro”) is spearheading “Exterminate All the Brutes,” a new four-part docuseries about European colonialism for HBO.
Josh Hartnett will star in the scripted portions of the series which is based on three works by authors and scholars: Sven Lindqvist’s “Exterminate All the Brutes,” Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz’s “An Indigenous People’s History of the United States” and Michel-Rolph Trouillot’s “Silencing the Past”.
A blend of documentary footage and archival material, as well as animation and interpretive scripted scenes, the series aims to tell a story in which history, contemporary life and fiction are wholly intertwined.
Josh Hartnett will star in the scripted portions of the series. Peck and Remi Grellety serve as executive producers.
