In the wake of the date announcement of the launch of the HBO Max streaming service on May 27th, the streamer has now begun posting trailers for some of its original series.
“Love Life” is the first full-length scripted series to star Anna Kendrick. The romantic comedy anthology follows the journey from first love to last love, and how the people we’re with along the way make us into who we are. Sam Boyd (“In a Relationship”) created the series and serves as co-showrunner.
“On The Record” is a docuseries about music executive Drew Dixon as she grapples with her decision to become one of the first women of color, in the wake of #MeToo, to come forward and publicly name hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons of sexual assault. The documentary chronicles the story of of several other accusers.
Warner Bros. Animation offers an all-new “Looney Tunes” cartoon series said to “echo the high production value and process of the original Looney Tunes theatrical shorts with a cartoonist-driven approach to storytelling”. The new series consists of 80 eleven-minute simple and gag-driven episodes each comprised of animated shorts that vary in length.
Elmo is the host of his very own talk show called “The Not Too Late Show With Elmo” which brings familiar Sesame Street friends like Elmo, Cookie Monster along with celebrity guests like John Mullaney, Lil Nas X, Blake Lively, John Oliver and the Jonas Brothers.
“Legendary” is a competition series that pulls from the underground ballroom community, voguing teams (aka ‘houses’) must compete in unbelievable balls and showcase sickening fashion in order to achieve “legendary” status. The cast includes MC Dashaun Wesley and DJ MikeQ.
Finally “Craftopia” is a kids competition series hosted by LaurDIY. Crafters meet larger-than-life challenges to conjure up astonishing creations.
All these shows are expected to be available at launch.
