HBO Max reportedly closed out 2021 with 46.8 million domestic subscribers – up by 5.3 million over 2020 according to parent company AT&T in its fourth-quarter earnings report.
In addition, global subscriber levels are reportedly at 73.8 million. Domestically, revenue per subscriber came in at $11.15. Overall WarnerMedia revenue (including box-office, licensing, SVOD, cable, etc.) increased 15% in the quarter to $9.9 billion.
The details come as AT&T is about to merge WarnerMedia with Discovery in a $43 billion deal that’s in the final stages with regulators. AT&T says it now expects the transaction to close in the second quarter of this year.
