“Driftwood,” the first animated feature film by “Aquaman: King of Atlantis” co-creator Victor Courtright, has been cancelled by HBO Max just over three months after it was greenlit.

The project, dubbed a 2D animated space opera for the whole family, was part of a collaboration between HBO Max and Cartoon Network Studios.

The film would’ve followed Clover, a mouse-like creature in search of the fabled city of Driftwood, which stands as the last bastion of freedom in a decaying society ruled over by an evil corporation.

Production manager Finnjamin Button shared some poster art from the scrapped project, which you can see below. It joins numerous other projects that have fallen beneath the axe as Warner Bros. Discovery made heavy cuts in HBO Max’s kids and family department.

So far, Wall Street hasn’t been too impressed as Warner Bros. Discovery stock has reportedly lost 45% of its value since the spinoff.
