HBO Max is in early development of a film adaptation of the “Throttle” novella co-written by Stephen King and his son Joe Hill.
The “Duel”-esque “Throttle” follows a father and son led biker gang who get terrorized by a big rig truck on an isolated stretch of the American desert. The short story was first published in 2009 anthology “He Is Legend”.
Leigh Dana Jackson (“Raising Dion”) will write the screenplay while David S. Goyer and Keith Levine will produce. Hill’s “Horns,” “NOS4A2” and “Locke & Key” have all been adapted for the screen in recent years.
