“Harry Potter” Gets 25th Anniversary Re-Release

Warner Bros. Pictures

Warner Bros. Discovery has announced major plans for the upcoming 25th anniversary of the 2001 film “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” (aka. “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”) next year.

The company has announced it is deploying a year-long celebration across all divisions, with those plans including a global theatrical re-release of the original film, special edition products and retail promotions.

A newly designed 25th anniversary logo will feature prominently across new and existing product lines and retail activations.

Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products group says in a statement: “This anniversary not only celebrates the legacy of the original film but also introduces the magic to a new generation.”

The first film opened on November 16th 2001, paving the path for one of the most successful franchises in box office history which unfurled across eight films over the next ten years followed by three “Fantastic Beasts” spin-off films, a stage show, theme parks and more.

The celebrations will come ahead of the HBO TV series based on the property launching in 2027.
